GE announces two new bus interfaces

GE Intelligent Platforms has announced the availability of CANopen and CC-Link bus interfaces for its the PACSystems RSTi distributed I/O.
The two new interfaces enable the I/O and a range of devices to connect to one network. Global standards form the basis for the RSTi system, which aims to deliver an open, consistent and standard high performance communication link between field I/O and controller.
The integration of the unit into the control system will simplify development and commissioning, thus increasing productivity.

Standardisation on the RSTi I/O system is straightforward regardless of the controller type or bus interface, which in turn can reduce spare parts, training and support costs.
