Ingenico drives payment innovation

Ingenico has partnered with Microsoft on the company’s new Windows Embedded 8 Handheld platform, which was showcased at NRF 2013.

Ingenico will provide fully integrated handheld electronic payment solutions to the retail industry running on Windows Embedded 8 Handheld, which is based on Windows Phone 8.

The new Windows Embedded 8 Handheld-based devices will leverage Ingenico’s mobile payment and secure EMV technology to enable fully integrated acceptance of current and future forms of payment, including magnetic stripe, EMV chip-based cards, contactless, and NFC-enabled transactions.

Microsoft also introduced its other device hardware partners for Windows Embedded 8 Handheld devices – Bluebird, Honeywell, Intermec and Motorola Solutions.

The company also unveiled another part of the Windows Embedded roadmap is Windows Embedded 8 Standard, which plays a big role on the retail floor. The platform provides a secure, small footprint device that supports rich, modern application experiences just like Windows 8.
