Matrix42 supports virtual applications

Microsoft partner Matrix42 has revealed that its ‘Matrix42 Compliance’ licence management solution can now be used for virtual applications.

The ‘Virtual Workspace Compliance’ feature pack from Matrix42 enables comprehensive management of the modern workspace, across physical, virtual and mobile environments.

The technical possibilities of virtualised applications often do not comply with licence conditions, causing a major licensing challenge for companies. Matrix42’s Virtual Workspace Compliance feature pack supports companies and allows them to understand the consequences of the virtual provision of applications using Microsoft and other technologies and automatically map them in the licence balance.

Using this information, Matrix42 customers are in a better negotiation position in after-sales, concluding licence agreements and audits, reducing licence costs sustainably.

“Our compliance solution allows us to support comprehensive management of the modern workspace,” says Torsten Boch, senior product manager at Matrix42. “The user is our main focus, and Matrix42 automatically manages the technology the user requires for day-to-day work in the background. Because licence management plays a role in almost all IT processes and the number of virtual applications is growing exponentially, we have ensured that we continue to offer an extensive solution.”

The new features support administrators in recording the actual use of the virtualised applications in the company, and is based on various technologies, including Microsoft Remote Desktop Services.
