Tesco makes Clubcard Rewards digital
25 October 2012
Tesco Clubcard has joined forces with Eagle Eye to digitally distribute Tesco Clubcard Reward vouchers to its customers for the first time.
Eagle Eye is providing the UK’s largest grocer with a simple, secure and efficient way to manage its customer reward programme, with UK restaurant chain PizzaExpress as the first partner.
Tesco Clubcard customers can now exchange their Clubcard points for digitally-delivered rewards that are instantly redeemable at PizzaExpress.
Clubcard members can now receive rewards from PizzaExpress via e-mail within two hours and redeem them at participating restaurants.
Every online request that Tesco receives for a PizzaExpress reward is authenticated by Eagle Eye’s system.
A unique voucher code is automatically generated and a personalised e-mail containing the reward is sent to the customer, so that it can be redeemed immediately. Assigning a unique code to every reward ensures that it can only be redeemed once.
"In order to give our Clubcard customers a great experience, we need to ensure the rewards we are providing are of most value to them," said Ian Crook, Online and Digital Marketing Director, Tesco. "Eagle Eye is helping us to do precisely that. With this partnership, we're now able to offer our customers same day access to their reward. We can also better understand redemption, helping us to tailor our service to what it is customers really want.”

Tesco Neil Lambert, head of restaurant marketing at PizzaExpress, added: “We are always looking for ways to make our customers lives better, from easier ways to book, to making our pizzas fresher and tastier. This partnership with Tesco Clubcard and Eagle Eye gives us another way to enhance their experience by offering speed and convenience.”
Steve Rothwell, CEO of Eagle Eye Solutions, said: “As consumers engage more in the digital world, the appetite for digital voucher delivery is set to sky rocket. Retailers now appreciate the need to securely redeem digital vouchers and coupons, whilst having a platform that can support the wide variety of digital distribution services, such as Tesco Clubcard. PizzaExpress and Tesco Clubcard are leading the way in meeting the changing needs of consumers and our partnership is just the beginning.”
Eagle Eye’s solutions use Microsoft SQL Server and Visual Studio.
