Windows innovates at Hannover Messe
16 April 2010
Microsoft Windows Embedded will showcase the latest Windows 7-based innovations for manufacturing at the world’s biggest industrial fair, Hannover Messe.
Siemens, Beckhoff, Online Development and other key partners in the manufacturing industry will demonstrate Windows Embedded Standard 7, Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3, Windows Embedded Server and Windows Embedded’s full portfolio of platforms and technologies that help manufacturing companies drive connectivity between plant floor and backend systems – reducing time-to-market, increasing plant reliability and lowering production costs.
Windows Embedded equips manufacturers to thrive in today’s economy by running at the highest efficiency, while ensuring flawless quality.
Microsoft Combined with Windows Embedded CE and Windows Embedded Server, Windows Embedded Standard 7 connects devices driving production processes to the business intelligence network that runs modern plants, enabling plants to be reconfigured to meet the needs of the market.
The componentised, Windows Embedded CE platform also enables manufacturers to run real-time systems, such as actuators, Smart IO, local HMI, PLCs and a wide range of small footprint or rugged devices.
“We continue to deliver high-performance and reliable technologies that provide our partners in manufacturing with the confidence to develop innovative, connected solutions in order to meet the growing demands of the industry,” said Manoj Rami, senior marketing manager for Windows Embedded at Microsoft. “From the real-time capabilities of Windows Embedded CE, to the latest Windows 7-based technologies in Windows Embedded Standard 7, Windows Embedded equips manufacturers to thrive in today’s economy by running at the highest efficiency, while ensuring flawless quality.”
